Woman Scams Ludhiana Resident with Fake UK Spouse Visa Promise

A resident of Chahran was cheated by his wife, who promised him a spouse visa to the UK but disappeared after taking a large sum of money. The accused individuals, including Kulwinder Kaur, her father, and brothers, are facing charges for this.

The victim, Sarup Singh, wanted to send his son abroad and contacted Kulwinder Kaur for help. She claimed to have passed the IELTS exam but needed financial support to go overseas. She promised a spouse visa for Sarup’s son in return for funding her trip.

After they sent Kulwinder Kaur to the UK, she stopped communicating with them, and her family also avoided them. Realizing they were scammed, the family filed a complaint with the police on June 17, 2023.

Sub-Inspector Pargat Singh confirmed that the accused parties are charged under section 420 of the Indian Penal Code, and efforts are on to catch them.
