In Kurukshetra, a woman swindled an Irrigation Department employee of INR 50,04,560, promising UK work visas for him and his son. The accused, Bela William, claimed connections at the British Embassy in Delhi and the High Commission.

Pretending to be a UK citizen skilled in arranging clothing, jewelry, and work permits, Bela assured visas within a month. She demanded documents like Aadhaar cards, PAN cards, passport photos, and copies, collecting INR 55 lakhs over six months.

In November, she asked for an additional INR 26 lakhs, but the victim refused. Despite obtaining the visas, the accused denied the claims. The victim filed a complaint against Bela William and 18 others, including George Manager, Dr. Will Fred Pavel, Diplomat Joseph Tim, Patrick George, Mumbai Airport Authority, Sanjay Mirdha, Aryan Pandey, Pappu Verma, Sadiq Khan, Rohit Kumar, Tovi SWV, Sanjay Kumar, Ankit Mishra, Aman, Umesh, Pulindro Riyang, and Imran Khan. The police registered a case under the Immigration Act, sections 406, and 420. The victim had transferred money to all accused accounts.
