West Bengal is making it easier for people from Bangladesh and nearby countries to get medical visas. They are launching a special online portal to speed up the visa process. Right now, it takes one to one-and-a-half months, but with the new portal, it will only take two days.
The State Information and Technology (IT) department is working with private hospitals to make sure the portal works well. They had a meeting to figure out how to make the visa application process smoother and faster.
This online portal will make it much simpler for people from neighboring countries to access medical help in West Bengal. The government hopes this will encourage more people to come for medical treatment, boosting medical tourism, and making healthcare ties in the region stronger.
