Visa Scam Lucknow Victim Loses 5.50 Lakhs

Five people tricked others by sending fake visas through WhatsApp after taking their passports. When the victims asked for their passports and money back, the scammers threatened them. The victims reported the incident to the police at Naka police station on Tuesday.

Rokon Jamadar, an authorized agent for Sobuj Visa Passports from Naukhali district, Bangladesh, along with his associate Roman, met Amit Kumar Giri from Najafgarh, New Delhi, and Firoz Khan from Raebareli in November 2023.

During their conversation, Rokon and Roman mentioned their work with visa applications. They quoted Rs. 1.10 lakh as the cost and discussed making visas for five people from Macedonia, taking their passports in the process.

The scammers then asked for Rs. 5.50 lakh, which the victims paid into a specified account. A few days later, Amit sent the visas via mobile. However, upon checking, Rokon found out that the visas were fake.

DCP Raveena Tyagi stated that both victims already had valid visas to enter India. The scammers met the victims in the Naka area under the guise of discussing visas, took their money, and provided them with fraudulent visas.
