Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security’s Immigration Department revealed that recent changes in visa regulations have caused a significant boost in tourism. Following the law amendments that came into effect on August 15, there has been a 70% surge in e-visa applications during the first 15 days. Half of these applications came from countries newly eligible for electronic visas, with about 10% from Chinese citizens using e-passports.

Notably, many foreigners benefited from the extended visa validity of 90 days for multiple entries (up from 30 days for single entry), and the temporary stay for visitors from 13 countries has been extended to 45 days from the previous 15 days. This change is part of an effort to simplify entry and exit procedures for Vietnamese citizens.
