Vietnam might let Indian tourists visit without a visa, like Sri Lanka and Thailand already do. This could attract more visitors, especially from countries like India and China. People from Germany, France, Sweden, Italy, Spain, Denmark, and Finland can already visit Vietnam without a visa. Vietnam had a lot more visitors in 2023โ€”about 10 million, which is 4.6 times more than in 2022. Before COVID-19, around 170,000 Indians used to visit Vietnam each year. Indian tourists enjoy visiting places like Phu Quoc Island, Nha Trang, Da Nang, Ha Long Bay, and Hoi An. Since August, Vietnam has been giving e-visas to people from all countries. These visas last for 90 days and allow multiple entries.

If Vietnam lets Indian tourists come without a visa, it would be the third country to do so, after Sri Lanka and Thailand. Thailand recently announced that tourists from India and Taiwan can visit without a visa for six months to encourage more tourism. Before that, Sri Lanka offered free visas to travelers from India, China, Russia, Malaysia, Japan, and Indonesia to attract more tourists. The Sri Lankan tourism industry hopes to have 5 million tourists in the next few years. This is all good news for tourism!
