Victim Loses 2.5 Lakh in Visa Scam Involving Poland Visa Promise

This news article reports an incident where a man was defrauded of Rs 2.5 lakh in a visa scam related to Poland. The victim, a resident of Belthangady, had been promised a visa for his son by an individual named Manoj who claimed to offer employment opportunities in Poland. Over a period between May 22 of the previous year and March 19, the victim transferred Rs 2.2 lakh in multiple payments to Manoj for various reasons as requested.

However, despite the payments, the promised visa was never provided, and the money was not returned to the victim. Consequently, the victim filed a complaint with the Dharmasthala police station, citing sections 417 and 420 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which deal with offenses related to cheating and fraud.
