U.S. Visa Appointments
Applicants seeking U.S. visas must personally attend appointments at both the Visa Application Center (VAC) and the U.S. Embassy or Consulate for the visa interview. It’s mandatory to schedule the VAC appointment at least one day prior to the interview appointment date. You can conveniently schedule both appointments online via this website. For additional assistance, feel free to reach out to the call center.
Supporting documents
To schedule your appointment for a nonimmigrant visa, make sure you have:
- Your valid passport, which should be good for at least six months beyond your planned stay in the United States.
- Proof that you’ve paid the visa application fee.
- Your DS-160 confirmation page.
- Your email address handy.
- Any extra documents needed for your specific visa type (like approval if it’s based on a petition).
If you need more help, feel free to get in touch
You can reschedule your appointment a limited number of times without penalties. When you reach this limit, you’ll get a warning message. After that, you have two choices: attend the appointment or cancel it.
If you cancel the appointment after the warning, you’ll need to pay a new fee to schedule another one. If you miss both your Visa Application Center (VAC) and Consular appointments, you’ll be marked as a “no-show.” Make sure to plan ahead and reschedule before 4:30 p.m. local time two business days before your VAC appointment to avoid being marked as a “no-show.”
Visas for applicants under age 14 or age 80 and over
If you’re under 14 or over 80, you don’t need to go for a nonimmigrant visa interview at any Embassy/Consulate in India. Instead, you can use the Interview Waiver to submit your visa application. You can find more details, please click here
