The US Embassy in India has informed visa applicants about a temporary suspension of its customer service center operations due to a platform migration. From July 26 to July 28, customer calls and appointment bookings will be temporarily suspended, and from July 25 to July 28, fee payment services will also be unavailable. The services are set to resume on July 29, as announced by the embassy.

In an official tweet on Monday, the US Embassy in India issued the notice to inform visa applicants about the upcoming changes. The migration to a new platform necessitates the temporary suspension of these services to facilitate the transition.

To ensure a smooth and convenient move for the applicants during this period, the embassy provided some guidelines that customers should follow:

  1. Review and Update Profile Information: Applicants are advised to review their profile data and ensure that all information entered is complete and accurate. If any corrections are needed, they should be made as soon as possible.
  2. Early Visa Application Fee Payment: For those planning to pay a visa application fee in the near future, it is recommended to make the payment before July 24, 2023. This will help avoid any inconvenience, as payment services will be temporarily unavailable from July 25 to July 28 during the system change.
  3. Associate Visa Fee Payment to Profile: If applicants have already made their visa fee payment but have not associated it with their profile, they are requested to log in to their profile and link the payment by entering the payment receipt number.
  4. Unique Email Address for Dependent Applicants: Travel coordinators, group coordinators, or families who have added dependent visa applicants to primary applicant profiles should ensure that each dependent or applicant has a unique email address. If necessary, applicants may need to update the email addresses listed for dependents and applicants. The call center is available to provide assistance with updating this information.

The temporary suspension of visa services during the platform migration is a necessary step to improve the efficiency and functionality of the visa application process. The US Embassy in India aims to resume full services on July 29, 2023, and assures applicants that the migration will lead to an enhanced visa application experience.
