Starting April 1, 2024, the United States is raising fees for key non-immigrant visas:

H-1B Visa:

  • Old Fee: $460
  • New Fee: $780
  • Registration Fee Increase: From $10 to $215 next year.

L-1 Visa:

  • Old Fee: $460

EB-5 Visa:

These changes aim to streamline processes, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). DHS estimates an annual public cost of about $157 million over the next decade, with a total projected cost of about $1.34 billion. Despite this, DHS argues it will reduce paperwork and errors, simplify fee payments, and potentially lower fees for applicants. Some visa application fees in specific categories have also seen minor reductions.
