The US Consulate in Chennai has canceled all visa appointments scheduled for Monday, December 4, 2023, due to Cyclone Michaung. The consulate advises applicants to reschedule their appointments for a later date.
Cyclone Michaung is expected to bring heavy rainfall and strong winds to northern coastal areas of Tamil Nadu, including Chennai, starting on Sunday, December 3, 2023, and continuing through December 4, 2023. Consequently, the US Consulate General in Chennai will be closed on Monday, December 4, 2023.
VFS Global, the official outsourcing partner for visa processing services of the US Mission to India, has also announced that its Visa Application Centers (VACs) in Chennai will be closed on Monday, December 4, 2023, due to the cyclone.
