Starting from February 6, the United Kingdom will witness a substantial increase in its immigration health surcharge (IHS), marking a significant surge in visa costs. The revised rates will see the annual fee escalate from £624 to £1,035.
Similarly, for students or applicants under 18, the surcharge will experience an upward adjustment from £470 to £776 per year. The immigration health surcharge, a mandatory upfront payment, is now a requisite when submitting an application for entry or residency in the UK.
Originally slated for January 16, 2024, the implementation date of the fee increase was rescheduled to February 6, 2024, owing to parliamentary delays.
