UK Tightens Immigration Rules for Skilled Workers and Families

The UK’s Home Office recently announced big changes to immigration rules. The minimum earnings needed for a Skilled Worker visa went up by 48% to ยฃ38,700. For family visas, the requirement is now ยฃ29,000. These changes are part of a plan to reduce immigration, starting on April 4 and April 11.

Exceptions are there for people who can’t meet the family visa threshold due to child welfare or special circumstances.

Also, the list that let employers pay migrant workers less will end in April 2024.

Despite these changes, the UK is still open to skilled workers, especially in IT and construction. Health, care workers, and those on national pay scales won’t be affected.

While the UK is encouraging inactive people to work again, there are still many job options for skilled migrant workers.
