Supporters of the UK’s Graduate visa are working to protect post-study work opportunities for international students as the government reviews the program. The review, which started in December and will last until late 2024, is raising concerns that the Graduate visa might be stopped. London Higher’s CEO and UKCISA are taking action to address worries about how this could affect current students.

In a session on January 10, MP Richard Foord asked the government to confirm support for the visa, but Minister Andrew Griffith didn’t give a clear answer.

Even though an earlier statement in the House of Lords said there were no plans to change the student graduate route, the Home Secretary announced the review in December. People in the education sector are worried it might mean the end of the Graduate Route, which they see as a big success. Study Group CEO Ian Crichton highlighted how important post-study work is for international students, urging the government to confirm that the Graduate Route will continue. Prospective students and the sector are looking for reassurance from top officials.
