Two men were arrested at the Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport in Amritsar on suspicion of possessing fake Australian visas. The men, Lal from Phillaur and Javed from Khemkaran, were handed over to the airport police, who registered a case against them.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the men had been duped by a fake travel agent based in Singapore. The agent had promised to get them Australian visas and had asked them to meet her in Amritsar. The police are still investigating to identify the travel agent.
