Turkey extends visa-free stay to six months for citizens of Kyrgyzstan. Previously, they were allowed three months without a visa. The aim is to encourage Kyrgyz nationals with expired visas to stay longer in Turkey, as reported by News Agency 24.kg.
The announcement was made by Ruslan Kazakbaev, the Kyrgyz Republic’s Ambassador to Turkey, during a meeting of the Parliament’s Committee on International Affairs, Defense, Security, and Migration. Currently, around 20,000 Kyrgyzstan citizens are in Turkey, rising to 40,000 in summer.
Issues are resolved through cooperation between the two countries’ authorities. A green corridor is established for Kyrgyzstan citizens who violated local laws. Turkey issues a final warning, offering those with expired three-month tourist visas a chance to find employment and legalize their residency.
