Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) is introducing a new investor visa program from January 1, 2024, to encourage foreign investment in targeted industries. The EEC investor visa has four types: “S” for Specialists, “E” for Executives, “P” for Professionals, and “O” for Spouses and dependents. Investors can benefit from a 10-year visa, expedited work permit issuance, a 17% flat income tax rate, and privileged access at airports.
The EEC covers three eastern provinces, playing a key role in Thailand’s development plan for 2023-2027, with a 500 billion baht (US$13.7 billion) investment target. It aligns with the ‘Thailand 4.0 initiative,’ focusing on industries like automotive, electronics, tourism, and next-gen sectors like digital and biotechnology. The EEC has already exceeded its investment target from 2018-2022, signaling strong growth potential.
