Starting March 1, Thai tourists can go to China without a visa, making it super easy for them to explore. This is a big deal in their almost 50-year friendship.

Last September, Thailand already let Chinese tourists visit for 30 days without a visa. Now, they’ve decided to make it permanent.

China and Thailand have been friends since the 14th century and have been trading for over 480 years. Even though they had some issues after World War II, they officially became friends in 1975.

In January, China’s Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, said the “no visa” time would start on March 1. Now, Thais and Chinese can visit each other for up to 30 days without a visa, but not more than 90 days in 180 days.

Thais are excited about more Chinese tourists coming, but some worry that Chinese officials might ask more questions. One French visitor even had to answer more questions, even though he could enter without a visa.

This “no visa” deal is a big step to get more people from China and Thailand to visit and share their cultures.
