Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin expressed the government’s wish for visa-free agreements with Schengen countries in Europe and India. He mentioned on Monday that Foreign Minister Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara is actively working on the visa-free deal with Schengen states, acknowledging that it will take some time.

Mr. Srettha discussed the plan with key leaders, including the president of Switzerland, the prime minister of Belgium, and the president of the European Union. During these talks, he inquired about any issues with Thais living in the EU. Upon learning that Thais were seen as problem-free, he proposed the idea of visa facilitation to boost tourism between the nations.

The prime minister emphasized that Thailand has no conflicts with any Schengen area states, supporting the case for exploring visa-free arrangements.
