Thailand’s Prime Minister, Srettha Thavisin, is working to make the country more fun and attract more visitors. He plans to bring in famous artists for concerts and boost the economy after the pandemic. Thavisin is inspired by Taylor Swift’s concerts in Singapore and wants similar events in Thailand.

To make Thailand more visitor-friendly, Thavisin aims to eliminate visa requirements for people from other countries. He also wants to relax rules for drinking at concerts and decide the opening hours for entertainment venues.

Thailand has already simplified visa procedures for people from China and India. The Tourism Minister, Sudawan Wangsupakitkosol, hopes to achieve a new record of 40 million visitors this year, surpassing the earlier goal of 35 million. Currently, 5.2 million visitors have arrived, with 28 million in 2023, compared to 39.9 million in 2019 before the pandemic, contributing $53.34 billion to the economy.
