Taiwan is contemplating introducing visa on arrival for Indian travelers, potentially easing entry procedures.

Taiwan is “actively exploring” the possibility of extending visa-on-arrival privileges for Indian travelers, Deputy Foreign Minister Tien Chung-kwang announced this week. The proposal aims to tap into India’s significant outbound travel market.

Chung-kwang emphasized the substantial travel demand from Indian nationals, which has led the government to consider easing the visa process. However, he noted that further discussions with the immigration department are necessary before any changes can be implemented.

At present, Indian travelers need to obtain a visa through the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in India, which takes 2-10 working days.
