The Minister of Tourism wants to change the rules so that Chinese and Indian citizens don’t need visas to come to South Africa. The Minister of Tourism plans to talk to the Minister of Home Affairs about letting people from China and India visit South Africa without needing a visa for short trips. People from the United States, Russia, Brazil, and the United Kingdom already have this privilege.
If it’s easier for people from India and China to come to South Africa, even more might visit the country, the Minister of Tourism explained. She knows it’s a work in progress and that they have to think about what other government departments and ministries want when dealing with this issue.
