Singapore to Ease Visa Rules for Indian Tourists

Singapore is making it easier for Indian tourists to visit by relaxing visa rules, aiming to reach 1.5 million visitors this year. They’re adding 9,000 new hotel rooms to the existing 72,000, and the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) is simplifying visa processes in Mumbai, Delhi, and Chennai.

Before COVID, Singapore had 1.4 million Indian tourists in 2019, which rose to 1.1 million in 2023. The STB hopes to surpass 2019 numbers in 2024, focusing on filling the new hotel rooms and restoring pre-pandemic flight levels between India and Singapore.

Singapore also sees potential for increased business travel, particularly in sectors like pharmaceuticals, BioMed, IT, and FinTech. They plan to host exhibitions and conferences to boost collaborations and trade with India in these industries.
