Singapore and China are set to implement a reciprocal 30-day visa-free entry agreement, according to media reports. The announcement was made by Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Lawrence Wong during his visit to Tianjin and Beijing.

Wong noted the increasing personnel exchanges between the two countries, facilitated by the near-full recovery of flight operations to pre-pandemic levels. He expressed confidence that the visa-free entry agreement would further boost these exchanges and strengthen bilateral relations.

Earlier this year, China had resumed 15-day visa-free entry for Singaporean citizens, after a three-year suspension due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In May, Reuters reported, citing Beijing’s embassy, that China had been eager for the agreement to be reciprocal.
