In Hisar, Fatehabad district, two individuals were victims of a scam involving a promise of UK and Portugal visas, resulting in a loss of Rs 24 lakh. The fraudsters, identified as Sachin, Sushil, and Harry, convinced Parvinder Singh and his cousin Arvind Kumar that they could arrange visas for the UK and Portugal. Parvinder Singh, a resident of Guru Nanakpura, lodged a complaint, stating that they met Sachin during IELTS coaching in 2022, who then introduced them to Sushil.
In reliance on the promise of UK and Portugal visas, Parvinder Singh and Arvind Kumar handed over Rs 24 lakh to the suspects. They expected a Portugal work visa for Parvinder and a UK study visa for Arvind Kumar. However, the fraudsters failed to deliver the promised visas and provided the victims with non-honorable cheques. When the victims sought a refund, they allegedly faced threats of severe consequences, as detailed in the complaint filed with the police.
