Saudi Arabia Begins Issuing Visas for Hajj 2024

As of March 1, Saudi Arabia has started issuing Hajj visas for Muslim pilgrims worldwide, getting ready for the annual Hajj season from June 14 to 19. You can apply for a visa until April 29.

Saudi authorities have approved licenses for 1,860 buildings in Mecca to host pilgrims, aiming to accommodate around 1.2 million people, according to GulfNews. The deadline for landlords to apply for building licenses is extended to May 8, expecting over 5,000 licensed buildings.

Preparations for Hajj are underway, with new regulations announced. Saudi Minister of Hajj, Tawfiq Al Rabiah, mentioned that specific locations for countries at the holy sites will no longer be designated; allocations will be determined when contracts are finalized.

Muslim pilgrims are set to start arriving on May 9, coinciding with the first day of Dhul Qaidah, the 11th Islamic month.

In the previous year, around two million pilgrims from various countries participated in Hajj in and around Mecca, similar to the pre-pandemic year of 2019.
