Saudi Arabia has removed the three-year entry ban for expats who missed their visa expiry. The change, effective from January 16, allows these expatriates to re-enter the country.

Originally imposed in 2022, the ban applied to expats who didn’t return within the specified time after leaving the Kingdom. Those with a re-entry visa had to return on time or get a new visa from their employer.

Now, as of January 16, expats previously under the ban can return to Saudi Arabia. The General Directorate of Passports had noted that the term ‘exited and did not return’ would be recorded for expatriates two months after their visa’s expiry.
