Karachi, Pakistan – A man named Tauseef Ahmed was prevented from boarding a flight to Japan at Karachi airport on Sunday after authorities discovered a fake Japanese visa in his passport. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) took action against Ahmed and offloaded him from the flight. He will now be investigated by the FIA’s anti-human trafficking cell.

In a separate incident, nine people suspected of being beggars and disguised as Umrah pilgrims were also offloaded from a flight to Saudi Arabia at Multan airport. The FIA Immigration arrested the group, which consisted of six women and two men, after they failed to provide evidence of hotel bookings for their stay in Saudi Arabia. They will also be investigated by the FIA’s anti-human trafficking cell.

These incidents highlight the ongoing efforts of Pakistani authorities to crack down on fake travel documents and human trafficking.
