A pastor in Ondo State, Michael Ogundepo, has been apprehended by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on charges of visa fraud. The pastor is accused of deceiving a woman and fraudulently obtaining N1.67 million from her with the promise of securing a visa. Instead of fulfilling his promise, he held onto her money and passport, ignoring repeated invitations from the NSCDC for questioning regarding the scam.
Ogundepo’s arrest took place when he was lured to collect an additional N3 million for a supposed visa job, unaware that it was a trap set by authorities. He now faces charges of fraud and will be prosecuted in court.
