In Q3 2023, over 107,000 non-EU citizens were instructed to leave the European Union, marking a 4% decrease from the previous year. Additionally, 27,000 individuals were successfully returned to their home countries, reflecting a 12% increase. Citizens of Morocco, Syria, and Algeria comprised the largest groups told to leave, while citizens of Georgia, Albania, and Turkey constituted the majority of those sent back to another country. France issued the highest number of orders to leave, with 29,885, while Germany led in returns, sending around 4,100 individuals back to their home countries. Approximately 81% of those returned were sent to countries outside the EU.
