Ontario's 2024 PNP Allocation Revealed

Ontario announced it has 21,500 spots for its 2024 Provincial Nominee Program, up by 5,000 from last year’s 16,500.

This increase came after a meeting in November where immigration ministers discussed immigration’s impact. Each province gets a nomination allocation from IRCC, but not all share these numbers publicly.

The higher allocation was expected. Provinces asked for more say in choosing immigrants and more spots in their programs. In 2024, Canada will welcome 110,000 new permanent residents through the PNP, more than through Express Entry.

In March 2023, a similar meeting led to a multi-year plan for PNP allocations, helping provinces prepare for newcomers. Ontario hasn’t shared its plans for the next two years yet.
