The HCP stream is a way for Ontario to nominate skilled foreign workers who have the skills and experience that the province needs. To be eligible for the HCP stream, you must have a valid Express Entry profile and meet the following requirements:

  • You must have at least one year of full-time skilled work experience in an occupation that is in demand in Ontario.
  • You must have a Canadian post-secondary education degree or diploma.
  • You must have a language proficiency level of at least CLB 7 in English or French.
  • You must meet the minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 458.

If you are invited to apply for the HCP stream, you will have 45 days to submit your application. If your application is successful, you will be nominated by Ontario for permanent residency.

The July 20th draw was the first time that the HCP stream had invited candidates with a CRS score as low as 458. This is a sign that Ontario is continuing to have a strong demand for skilled foreign workers.

If you are a skilled foreign worker who is interested in living and working in Ontario, the HCP stream is a great way to achieve your immigration goals.
