Chuks Alizor, a Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) employee, is under police scrutiny for allegedly orchestrating a visa scam connected to the FIFA Women’s World Cup in New Zealand and Australia. Alizor was arrested and later released on bail after complaints from two fans, Duke Uche Eseka and Obiakor Chris Albert Okechukwu, who claimed they paid for visas and match tickets but received neither.

Their grievance prompted a petition to authorities, including the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Alizor is accused of instructing the fans to pay a total of N7,722,000 for visas, biometric capturing, and hotel accommodations, which he allegedly failed to process. The fans also alleged that Alizor provided a rejection letter from the Australian Embassy lacking the required supporting documents.

Furthermore, they asserted that over 500 members of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club were similarly scammed, each paying $120 for match tickets and N320,000 for visas, with unsuccessful outcomes. The NFF has not issued an official statement on the matter, and efforts to reach the NFF’s Director of Communication, Ademola Olajire, have been unsuccessful.
