In the 2023-2024 period, New Zealand got 31,588 student visa applications, approving over 27,000 (87%). Rejections dropped by 43%, with 4,000 applications declined. Reasons for rejection included withdrawal, replacing with a new application, data errors, and not meeting requirements.
New Zealand offers different student visas, like the Fee Paying Student Visa. It needs proof of accommodation, approved education provider, and enough funds. This visa allows a stay of up to four years, with options to study full-time, work part-time (up to 20 hours a week), and live independently.
The Exchange Student Visa is for international students in a legit exchange scheme, allowing full-time studies for over three months. Valid for up to four years, it allows part-time work. After it expires, students can apply for a visitor visa for an extra three months as a tourist.
