Two cousins from Rudrapur were scammed by a fake New Zealand work permit scheme, losing a lot of money to a migration company in Peelibheet. When they reached New Zealand with the promised visas, they got arrested for carrying fake documents. After getting legal help and paying 1,47,000 Indian rupees, they were finally released from jail.

The police took action against four people from Peelibheet, including Baljinder Singh, Dalbir Singh, Simarjeet Kaur, and Satinderpal Singh Bal, following a court order. The incidents happened in April 2023 when they visited Baljinder Singh’s house. Dalbir revealed that Satinderpal had made a deal with a New Zealand company, costing about 1.5 million rupees, including travel ticket arrangements.

Accompanying Satinderpal, Manjeet also discussed work permits for two others. They gave their passports and a lot of money to the operators. Manjeet additionally paid and pledged his land, totaling 1,640,000 rupees. On August 4, Satinderpal arranged for the necessary documents at Delhi’s IGI Airport, and they left for New Zealand.

However, they were arrested upon arrival in New Zealand as their visas were found to be from a fraudulent company. With the help of a friend, Manjeet paid 1,47,000 Indian rupees for their release. Back in India, Satinder and Dalbir denied involvement, claiming they were tricked by the operators using fake visas to book tickets. Despite filing a complaint, the police took no action, so they sought help from the court.
