Good news for Mexican travelers! Starting from February 29, 2024, Canada has made travel easier for Mexican citizens. Now, most Mexicans can visit Canada with just an electronic travel authorization (eTA).
Here’s what you need to know:
- Flying or Transit: If you’re flying to Canada or transiting through for another destination, you’re good to go.
- Short Stays: Planning to stay for up to six months? No worries!
- Previous Visas: If you had a Canadian visitor visa in the last 10 years or a valid U.S. nonimmigrant visa, you’re eligible.
If you had an eTA before 11:30 pm EST on February 29, 2024, it’s still valid. And if you’re already in Canada as a visitor, you can stay for the approved time.
For future trips, just apply for a new eTA or visitor visa if needed. Traveling between Mexico and Canada just got simpler!
