Kuwait May Reopen to Visitors with New Visa Rules

Kuwait is thinking about reintroducing visit visas with updated regulations. Family visas were stopped over a year ago to review how visas are issued and to prevent people from staying longer than allowed. The new rules are almost ready and should be announced in December. Visitors will receive a special card and must get health insurance, including sons, daughters, parents of kids over 16, and parents visiting their children. Visas for siblings won’t be issued, and health insurance could cost up to KD 500. The longest visit allowed will be one month, and visa fees might double.

One important rule requires the visa applicant to ensure the visitor leaves on time. If they don’t, the person who applied for the visa could face legal penalties, including fines and other punishments. They might also be banned from sponsoring future visit visas, according to inside sources.
