A man named Rup Kumar Ashok Kumar Gayen attempted to use a counterfeit visa to travel from Mumbai airport to Greece on September 3rd but was apprehended by vigilant immigration officials. Upon inspection, authorities immediately spotted the fraudulent nature of Gayen’s visa. Gayen claimed to have acquired the fake visa from an agent in Azerbaijan for a sum of Rs. 2 lakhs, with the intention of visiting Greece as a tourist. However, subsequent investigations by immigration officers, in collaboration with the relevant embassy, confirmed the visa’s counterfeit status.
As a result of this incident, Gayen now faces serious legal repercussions. He has been charged with offenses related to cheating, forgery, and the use of false documents, in addition to violations under the Passport Act. The case has been officially registered at the Sahar police station, marking a significant legal dilemma for the individual involved.
