Malaysia will waive visa requirements for Chinese and Indian visitors starting December 1, allowing them to stay for up to 30 days visa-free. This decision was announced by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim during a speech at his People’s Justice Party’s annual congress in Putrajaya. He noted that the visa exemption would be subject to security screening. Malaysia is hoping to attract more tourists and investors, particularly from India and China, to boost its economy. Anwar had previously announced plans to improve visa procedures in 2024 to facilitate the entry of tourists and investors.

Meanwhile, China has also announced that it will allow citizens of six countries, including Malaysia, to enter the country without a visa starting December 1. This policy will remain in effect until November 30, 2024, and will allow leisure, business, and family travelers from those nations to stay in China for up to 15 days visa-free.
