Starting January 28, the Kuwait Ministry of Interior (MoI) will resume issuing visitor visas for expatriates’ families. According to the updated Article 29, family visa applicants must have a monthly salary of 800 Kuwaiti dinars (around Rs 2,16,150), but certain professions are exempt from the degree requirement.

Children under five years old born to parents in Kuwait or abroad are exempt from the salary condition, following guidelines from the General Administration of Residence Affairs. The decision, outlined in Article Two, will be executed by the acting undersecretary upon its publication in the Official Gazette.

Article 30 outlines 14 professions exempt from the university degree requirement, spanning roles in the government sector like advisors, judges, prosecutors, and legal researchers. The exemption also covers medical professionals, professors, teachers, engineers, religious personnel, journalists, athletes, and others.
