Starting January, tourists visiting Kenya won’t need a visa, announced President William Ruto on December 12. A new digital platform ensures all visitors receive electronic travel authorization in advance, eliminating the need for visa applications.
Speaking in Nairobi for the 60th independence anniversary, Ruto stated, โIt shall no longer be necessary for any person from any corner of the globe to carry the burden of applying for a visa to come to Kenya.โ
Ruto, advocating for visa-free travel in Africa, previously mentioned that people from African countries won’t need a visa to visit Kenya by the end of 2023. Kenya’s vital tourism industry offers beach holidays and wildlife safaris, playing a crucial role in the country’s economy.
