Starting January, tourists visiting Kenya won’t need a visa, announced President William Ruto on December 12. A new digital platform ensures all visitors receive electronic travel authorization in advance, eliminating the need for visa applications.

Speaking in Nairobi for the 60th independence anniversary, Ruto stated, โ€œIt shall no longer be necessary for any person from any corner of the globe to carry the burden of applying for a visa to come to Kenya.โ€

Ruto, advocating for visa-free travel in Africa, previously mentioned that people from African countries won’t need a visa to visit Kenya by the end of 2023. Kenya’s vital tourism industry offers beach holidays and wildlife safaris, playing a crucial role in the country’s economy.
