Japan Launches eVisas for Indian Tourists

Japan has started giving eVisas to Indian tourists. This means they don’t need physical visa stickers on their passports anymore. Starting April 1, Indian travelers can apply for visas online through Japan Visa Application Centers run by VFS Global.

This new eVisa is for tourists and allows a 90-day stay in Japan for both Indian citizens and foreigners living in India. To apply, you go to the Visa Application Centers managed by VFS Global, like before. But instead of getting a visa sticker, you’ll receive an electronic visa.

When you arrive in Japan, you show a “visa issuance notice” on your phone. Remember, you need internet access for this. Other formats like PDFs or printed copies won’t work.
