From November 1, 2023, Vietnamese tourists traveling in organized tour groups through approved travel companies or authorized agents will be able to apply for e-visas to Japan. This means that they will be able to get their visas online, without having to visit a Japanese embassy or consulate.

E-visas are valid for short-term visits for tourism purposes, with a maximum stay of 15 days. They are only available to Vietnamese passport holders residing in Vietnam.

To apply for an e-visa, tourists will need to submit their passport information and travel details through the Japanese government’s website. Once their application is approved, they will receive a Visa Issuance Notice, which they will need to present to immigration officials upon arrival in Japan.

Travel agencies believe that the new e-visa program will make it easier and more convenient for Vietnamese tourists to visit Japan. They are optimistic that it will lead to an increase in tourism, especially during peak holiday periods.
