Italy has postponed the deadlines for foreign nationals to apply for one of the 151,000 work permits available this year. The new dates for work permit applications range from March 18 to March 25. Applicants are divided into three groups.
According to Fragomen, non-seasonal workers from countries with agreements with Italy can apply from March 18, 2024. For non-seasonal workers from countries without agreements, applications can begin on March 21, 2024.
Though these groups have different start dates, Italian authorities clarified that a total of 89,050 quota spots are allocated for them. Seasonal workers can apply from March 25, 2024, marking the final phase.
Non-seasonal workers have 61,250 quota spots, with an extra 700 for self-employed foreign workers. Fragomen notes that work permits are granted on a first-come, first-served basis, allowing early applicants meeting requirements to secure a permit.
