Indonesia is thinking about letting people from 20 countries, including the US, China, and India, enter without a visa to boost tourism and the economy. They’ll decide on the list in a month. The Tourism Minister, Sandiaga Uno, said the president supports this to help the economy, tourism, and foreign investment.

Before COVID in 2019, Indonesia had 16 million international visitors. From January to October 2023, it had 9.49 million visitors, a big 124.3% increase from 2022.

This follows Singapore saying they’ll have a 30-day visa-free deal with China next year. It’s part of a trend in Southeast Asia to make travel easier, especially for Chinese tourists.
