Indonesia is boosting its tourism by introducing a new five-year visa policy, allowing visitors to stay up to 60 days per entry. Starting from December 20, this replaces the old 30-day single-entry visa. The move aims to attract more global travelers and stimulate economic growth. Notably, applicants can now apply online and pay with credit cards for added convenience.
This change aligns with Indonesia’s goal to compete with neighboring tourist destinations more effectively. The previous 30-day visa had limitations, but the new policy accommodates longer stays and multiple entries, making Indonesia more appealing to international tourists.
As of December 8, Indonesia had already exceeded its target, welcoming almost 10 million foreign tourists for the year. However, it still trails behind Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam in total tourist arrivals.
