F1 Visa Slots Open Up in India, Giving Students a Chance to Study in the US

F1 visa opportunities are opening up in India, providing renewed optimism for students pursuing their Master’s degrees in the United States. Many of these students have experienced visa rejections in the past but are now hopeful of securing their visas.

For instance, Rakesh P faced multiple visa rejections, including an attempt in Vietnam, but he succeeded on his third try during a recent interview in New Delhi. Likewise, Vijay M had been attending interviews since June of the previous year and had postponed his admission multiple times. However, he has now received approval for his visa and will be traveling soon.

In a broader context, the issuance of US student visas has surged, reaching its highest level since 2016. In the 2022 fiscal year, over 411,000 student visas were issued, marking a 15% increase from the previous year. This represents the largest year-over-year increase not related to the pandemic since 2010 and the highest total in six years, as reported by data from the US State Department.
