A 33-year-old Indian national, Vinaykumar Patel, has been found guilty of multiple counts related to visa fraud and conspiracy in a three-day jury trial in Pennsylvania. Patel, who managed the Fuel-On convenience store in Lock Haven, orchestrated a staged robbery in June 2019. Following the incident, he applied for a U-visa, reserved for non-citizens victimized by crime and cooperating with law enforcement. Patel, having no lawful immigration status at the time, faces a maximum penalty of 25 years in prison, supervised release, and a fine. The case was investigated by the FBI, Pennsylvania State Police, and Clinton County District Attorneyโs Office.
