Great news for Indian travelers! You can now travel abroad without a passport for certain destinations.

To go on a Nepal tour, all you need is a valid photo ID issued by the Indian government or an election ID from the Election Commission of India. While traveling within India is easy, most international trips usually require a passport. But there are exceptions โ€“ Bhutan and Nepal allow entry without one.

For Bhutan, adults can use a Voter ID card, and children can show their birth certificate or school ID (Aadhaar card). Similarly, for Nepal, you can easily catch a flight from major Indian airports to Kathmandu, and you can prove your Indian citizenship with a Voter ID card or Aadhaar card. Additionally, apart from Bhutan and Nepal, 58 countries worldwide offer visa-free travel opportunities. Although you still need a passport, you won’t need a separate visa for these places. These countries include popular destinations like the Maldives, Mauritius, Thailand, Macau, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Myanmar, Qatar, and more.
