India has formally requested Canada to withdraw 41 of its diplomats stationed at the Canadian embassy in Delhi. This move marks a significant development in the ongoing diplomatic conflict between the two nations.The dispute initially arose when Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made statements suggesting that Indian government agents may have played a role in the assassination of a Sikh separatist leader in Canada.
India vehemently denies these allegations, dismissing them as “absurd” and driven by political motives.In response to Trudeau’s comments, India took measures to expel several Canadian diplomats and suspended all visa applications from Canadians. Canada reciprocated by expelling a number of Indian diplomats.
